# BaseMouse

> BaseMouse serves cited, checksummed context packs to AI agents from your own documents. Import your docs, then fetch grounded, agent-ready JSON with a source and a checksum on every claim — one API call, full version history, open source at the core.

BaseMouse is an AI-native, local-first document/notes repository for workspaces and agents. It exports structured, versioned `basemouse.context_pack.v1` bundles agents consume directly: every entry carries citations, provenance, a checksum, a version, a relevance score, and the document relationships it was drawn from. Retrieval blends three signals — lexical term overlap, one-hop graph expansion along document links, and a local offline vector similarity — and annotates why each result surfaced. Anonymous callers see a public demo corpus; authenticated `bm_` keys reach a private workspace. Verify checksums before treating pack claims as authoritative.
